Security Deposit — Important

The official notice refers candidates to the separate Registration / Security Deposit Money table on Page 2.

Candidates should check the complete official document and counselling portal before making payment.

HGE advises candidates not to rely on old-year security deposit figures unless they are confirmed from the 2026 notice.

Who Can Participate?

Eligibility depends on the quota under which the candidate is applying.

Government / State Quota

Candidates seeking Government / State quota benefits must satisfy the applicable Chhattisgarh eligibility and residence conditions prescribed in the official UG admission rules.

Private College Management Quota

The applicable Chhattisgarh UG rules also allow candidates from outside Chhattisgarh to compete for eligible Management Quota seats in private Medical/Dental Colleges, subject to prescribed eligibility conditions.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories of another State do not automatically receive Chhattisgarh State reservation benefits.

NRI Quota

NRI seats and NRI eligibility are governed separately.

CGDME has issued a separate NRI eligibility/document-related notice on 7 August 2026.

Candidates applying under NRI quota must therefore check the separate NRI notice and should not assume that normal State/Management documents are sufficient.

Private College Quota Structure

As per the current Chhattisgarh UG admission rules:

  • NRI Quota: 15% in applicable Private Medical/Dental institutions.
  • After excluding the NRI seats, the remaining eligible private-college seats are divided between:
  • Government Quota
  • Management Quota

according to the prescribed State rules.

Candidates should always check the final 2026 college-wise and quota-wise seat matrix before choice filling.

Chhattisgarh Reservation — Government / Applicable Government Quota Seats

As per the current UG admission rules, reservation includes applicable provisions for:

  • ST — 32%
  • SC — 12%
  • OBC Non-Creamy Layer — 14%
  • EWS — 10% in applicable Government Colleges

Horizontal reservations include applicable provisions for:

  • Women — 30%
  • PwD — 5%
  • Ex-Servicemen — 3%
  • Freedom Fighter category — 3%

These reservation benefits must be applied only according to the eligibility, category, quota and certificate rules prescribed by CGDME.

Choice Filling Starts With Registration

An important point for Round 1 is that choice filling starts on the same day as registration:

9 August 2026 at 11:00 AM

Candidates should not only complete registration but also start planning their college preferences early.

Choice Filling Last Date

Choice Filling and Locking will remain available until:

17 August 2026 at 11:59 PM

Do not confuse this with the registration deadline.

New applications close one day earlier — on 16 August at 11:59 PM.

Counselling Process

The Chhattisgarh UG admission rules provide for an online counselling process involving:

  1. Online registration/application
  2. Payment of applicable fee/security amount
  3. Choice filling and preference order
  4. Merit processing
  5. Seat allotment
  6. Original document scrutiny
  7. Admission/reporting
  8. Subsequent counselling rounds as applicable

Registration in Later Rounds

The official Round 1 notice states that an online application/registration facility will be available in each counselling round and a fresh merit list will be published for the respective round.

Candidates allotted and admitted in Round 1 who select the upgradation option can be considered for upgradation in Round 2 according to the rules.

Previously registered but unallotted candidates and eligible newly registered candidates may also participate in the next round as permitted by CGDME rules.

Documents Candidates Should Prepare

Candidates should keep applicable original documents and clear scanned copies ready, including:

  • NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
  • NEET UG 2026 Score Card / Rank details
  • Class 10 certificate / date-of-birth proof
  • Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate
  • Government identity proof
  • Chhattisgarh domicile/residence documents where applicable
  • Caste certificate
  • OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate where applicable
  • EWS certificate where applicable
  • PwD certificate where applicable
  • Special-category certificates where applicable
  • NRI documents for NRI applicants
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Signature
  • Other documents prescribed by CGDME

Candidates should follow the exact 2026 certificate formats and eligibility rules published by the authority.

Seat Matrix — Important Status

CGDME's official 7 August publication is titled:

“CG State NEET UG 2026 Online Application Notice, Seat Matrix and Schedule.”

However, candidates should check the latest official college-wise matrix before finalising their preferences.

HGE will separately track the 2026 college-wise, course-wise, quota-wise and category-wise seat matrix for predictor and choice-filling updates.

Do Not Confuse NEET Qualifying Cutoff With Admission Cutoff

The NEET UG qualifying cutoff only determines basic NEET eligibility.

The actual Chhattisgarh MBBS/BDS admission cutoff will depend on:

  • State merit
  • Category
  • Quota
  • College
  • Course
  • Round
  • Seat availability

2026 Round 1 college admission cutoffs will be known only after seat allotment.

What Candidates Should Do Now

  1. Read the official CGDME notification.
  2. Check Government / Private / Management / NRI eligibility.
  3. Prepare all required certificates.
  4. Keep payment arrangements ready.
  5. Shortlist Medical and Dental Colleges before choice filling.
  6. Start registration after 11:00 AM on 9 August.
  7. Complete the application well before 16 August at 11:59 PM.
  8. Complete and lock choices before 17 August at 11:59 PM.
  9. Save the final application and choice-filling confirmation.
  10. Keep checking for merit list, allotment and reporting notices.

Important Warnings

⚠️ Do not say “registration is open” before 9 August at 11:00 AM.

⚠️ Registration and choice filling have different closing dates.

⚠️ NRI candidates have a separate official eligibility notice.

⚠️ Do not use previous-year security deposit, fee, seat matrix or document rules without checking the 2026 official information.

⚠️ Do not treat NEET qualifying marks as Chhattisgarh college admission cutoffs.
