🚨 Action Required: KEA is conducting physical document verification from 4 August to 8 August 2026 for specified UGNEET candidates who successfully booked a verification slot.

Candidates covered by the notice must attend personally on their allotted date and time with all original documents. A parent, agent or representative cannot attend in place of the candidate.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority has announced a separate physical-verification process for candidates whose eligibility, reservation or institutional claim requires in-person document scrutiny.

This update applies to Karnataka UGNEET 2026 admissions for applicable:

  • MBBS
  • BDS
  • BAMS
  • BUMS
  • BHMS
  • Other courses covered through the KEA UGNEET process

Verification Window

  • Physical document verification begins: 4 August 2026
  • Last verification date: 8 August 2026
  • Attendance: Only according to the slot booked by the candidate
  • Mode: In person
  • Proxy or representative: Not allowed

Candidates who were required to book a slot but did not complete slot booking should immediately check the official KEA portal for their current status. Do not assume walk-in verification will be accepted.

Who Must Attend Physical Verification?

The KEA notice covers specified candidates, including:

NRI and Overseas Claims

  • NRI candidates
  • NRI Ward candidates
  • Foreign National candidates
  • Other overseas-status claims specifically called by KEA

Pending or Newly Claimed Reservation Benefits

Candidates whose verification slip was not generated because verification remained pending for claims such as:

  • Kannada eligibility
  • Rural reservation
  • Linguistic Minority
  • Religious Minority

It also includes applicable newly registered candidates who claimed these benefits and were directed to attend verification.

St. John’s Medical College Claims

Candidates claiming applicable St. John’s Medical College categories:

  • RC-2
  • RC-3
  • RC-4
  • RC-5
  • RC-6
  • RC-7
  • RC-8

Candidates under RC-1 and RC-9 should follow the specific exemption or separate instructions stated by KEA.

Who Generally Does Not Need to Attend?

According to KEA’s published guidance, the following candidates generally do not require this separate physical-verification process:

  • Candidates who had already completed verification and downloaded their verification slip
  • Candidates who entered their NEET roll number and are eligible to download an updated verification slip
  • Newly registered candidates who did not claim a reservation or special category requiring physical scrutiny
  • Candidates specifically exempted under the St. John’s category instructions

Always confirm the status inside the official KEA login. A candidate’s dashboard or verification-slip status is more important than assumptions based only on a general category description.

Candidates must follow the exact venue printed on their slot confirmation or official KEA instruction.

Documents to Carry

Carry all original documents applicable to your claim, along with sufficient photocopies.

The document set may include:

  1. KEA application or confirmation slip
  2. Verification-slot acknowledgement
  3. NEET UG 2026 admit card
  4. NEET UG 2026 scorecard
  5. Class 10 marksheet and certificate
  6. Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate
  7. Government photo identity proof
  8. Study certificates
  9. Karnataka eligibility documents
  10. Kannada-medium or Kannada-language claim documents
  11. Rural-study certificate
  12. Linguistic Minority certificate
  13. Religious Minority certificate
  14. NRI/NRI Ward sponsorship and relationship documents
  15. Passport, visa and overseas-residence proof
  16. St. John’s category documents
  17. Category and income certificates, where applicable
  18. Other certificates listed in the KEA Information Bulletin

Carry originals even when documents were previously uploaded online. Uploaded copies do not replace physical originals where KEA has directed in-person verification.

Verification Slip Action

Candidates who already completed the required eligibility verification should check whether KEA permits them to download an updated verification slip after linking their NEET roll number.

Verify that the slip correctly shows:

  • Candidate name
  • NEET roll number
  • Eligibility clause
  • Category
  • Rural/Kannada/minority claim
  • NRI or special-category claim
  • Applicable seat eligibility

If any valid claim is missing, follow only the official KEA correction or verification process.

Important Warnings

🚨 Failure to complete a mandatory verification may make the candidate ineligible to claim the concerned category, quota or seat type during option entry and allotment.

Do not:

  • Send a parent or agent instead of the candidate
  • Attend without a confirmed slot when slot booking is mandatory
  • Carry only photocopies
  • Assume an uploaded document is automatically accepted
  • Alter or fabricate a certificate
  • Rely on unofficial venue or timing messages
  • Miss the allotted verification date

What Students Should Do Today

  1. Login to the official KEA portal.
  2. Check whether physical verification is required.
  3. Download the slot confirmation.
  4. Verify the reporting venue and time.
  5. Arrange all originals category-wise.
  6. Carry photocopies and application acknowledgements.
  7. Reach the centre early.
  8. Confirm the final verification status after scrutiny.
  9. Download the updated verification slip when available.
  10. Check every category and eligibility entry before option entry begins.

Important Clarification for Non-Karnataka Candidates

Not every non-Karnataka candidate is required to attend physical verification.

Candidates without Karnataka reservation or special claims should follow their individual KEA portal status and the official registration instructions.

Physical verification becomes particularly relevant when the candidate has claimed:

  • NRI/NRI Ward status
  • Minority status
  • A special institutional category
  • Another benefit requiring original-document scrutiny
